Dr. Anthony Fiorato Speaks to ACI Student Chapter and CEAT
The ACI-UIUC Student Chapter hosted Dr. Anthony Fiorato as the invited speaker for the Chapter Meeting on September 22, 2005, at the Newmark Civil Engineering Laboratory. Dr. Fiorato is the current President and CEO of the Construction Technology Laboratory (CTL) Group in Skokie, IL, and he is also the past President of ACI International. He is also an alumnus of the UIUC Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, obtaining his Ph.D. in 1971 and M.S. in 1968 in Structural Engineering.
Dr. Fiorato’s presentation was entitled “Concrete Materials Testing”, significant developments in materials testing and implications for design and specification of concrete.
Over 34 Civil Engineering Students and Faculty attended the event. CEAT was a co-sponsor of the event. Many of the CEAT graduate students are officers on the ACI-UIUC Chapter and Director David Lange is acting faculty advisor for the Chapter.
