On April 16-18, 2007, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) co-sponsored the 2007 Worldwide Airport Technology Transfer Conference – New Directions in Airport Technology. The conference was held in Atlantic City, New Jersey hosted by the Atlantic City International Airport. The Hilton Hotel and Casino Resort in Atlantic City was the site of the conference where over 140 attendees gathered from all over the world.

This international conference focused on the development of technology and its application to airports, covering a broad range of technology areas for airports. The conference showcased the FAA National Airport Pavement Test Facility, which was built in a partnership between the FAA and the Boeing Company and is now in its eighth year of operation. A site visit to the test facility was included in the conference schedule. The conference provided a unique opportunity to both the aviation industry and the research community to interact and exchange information to assure safe and efficient airport operation.

CEAT attendees at the conference included CEE Professors Dr. Tutumluer, Dr. Roesler, Dr. Carpenter, Dr. Buttlar and Graduate Student Phillip Donovan. Professors Roesler, Carpenter and Buttlar gave presentations on their research at the conference. The Director of the O’Hare Modernization Program, Rosemarie Andolino, also presented at the conference.
